Vivian Corporation Ltd entered the food market business in 1984 when it acquired a major shareholding in one of Malta's oldest food distribution companies "Spiteri Mallia Ltd" that was established since 1922.
Spiteri Mallia Ltd continued to operate independently until 1996 when Vivian Corporation purchased the remaining shares and fully integrated it within its General Foods Division. This move was coupled with the acquisition of new product lines to complement those already established on the market, hence increasing the division's product portfolio offering the market place a wider selection of branded quality products aimed at the 'high mass' sector. The portfolio covers naturally sparkling water, mineral water, ice-tea, creams, cheese, pasta, tomato products, beans, olive oils, rice, high fiber - biscuits, rusks, crackers, pasta and Italian meat delicacies such as hams and salami.
Today the General Foods Division boasts of a number of important brand names, particularly those known to the Italian market.
